As part of the extensive programming on Friday, Feb. 14 at the Triple Crown NIT event in Kansas City, current Nebraska volleyball player Harper Murray will share her thoughts and opinions on the critical role of mental health maintenance for the modern student-athlete.
Murray will speak from 2-3 p.m. in Room 2215 of the Kansas City Convention Center. All participants in the TC NIT event are invited to attend this free presentation.
After being named Big 10 Freshman of the Year and earning regard as a third-team All-American, Murray found herself struggling in a variety of ways after Nebraska’s 2023 NCAA tournament final loss to Texas. Her presentation will review her battle with depression, the profound damage caused by abusive commentary on social media, and her return to form in leading Nebraska last season in kills and aces while earning AVCA All-America Second Team honors.
The session will be moderated by Sarah Lauren, who holds a Master of Arts in Sport and Performance Psychology and is owner of Sarah Lauren Consulting – Athletic Peak Performance & Life After Sport.
