Triple Crown Staff Spotlight
Name: Edward Pennington
Job title: Volleyball event director
Email: eddie@triplecrownsports.com
Hometown: Denver, CO
Family: I am the youngest of four siblings, with three sisters and one brother. Mom is retired and currently lives in Ohio. I reside in Charlotte, NC., with my girlfriend Abbey and two cats.
College attended/graduated: Belmont Abbey – 2015.
Sports background: I have a fairly long background of sports primarily playing hockey growing up, and volleyball as a young adult to present.
Proudest moment was as the head men's volleyball coach at Tusculum University. We built the inaugural team in 2019 and were fortunate to have early success as a program including a freshman All-American in our inaugural season.
Most humbling defeat was in one of my most recent years as a coach and losing to a few teams throughout the year; it showed our team it was more than talent that was going to win a game. These losses propelled our season, and we ended up finishing with our best results by the end of the year.
Hobbies: Huge sports household, and I coach club volleyball at CUVC on both the girls and boys side. Play a good amount of golf and also go watch Abbey play in local tennis matches in Charlotte.
Favorite trip: Trip to Cancun in 2021.
How did you become associated with Triple Crown?: I was introduced to Triple Crown through my volleyball club director John Brannon, who introduced me to Jared Rudiger at TCS.
What intrigues you the most about Triple Crown?: The continual growth as a company, and how passionate the company is as a whole with relationship building. Being onsite and being able to see how the company operates and how tight-knit the culture is. This showed me how much they care, and that's not just about the internal employees, but also each outside entity that they interact with.
